Mass adoption of web3 Gaming, Game market economy, Gala, and more.
“Content is King, and Community is Queen”
“The Merge” was successfully merged. Glassnode called it “one of the most impressive feats of engineering.”
It was indeed a Feat of Engineering.
To put it into perspective, you just change the engine of a moving car.
With Ethereum now a PoS blockchain, we are in a new era. Let that sink in!
Apart from what happened last week with the merge, web3 space is going a complete silence as everyone is in building mode or rather a stealth. If your most social media spend time is on Twitter, you will notice that conversations around web3 and crypto are going deeper and wiser with lesser noise, like in 2021.
This week brings you amazing concepts, narratives, research, and reports!
Read them all; you will be grateful for it.

How will Web3 Gaming evolve to mass adoption?
“don’t mistake a seed by its infancy, you gotta look at what it can grow into. web3 gaming with advancements and innovations in the metaverse and nft fields, will only continue to grow into a massive tree from here.” Levent Cem Aydan
Concepts are developing, narratives are changing, and the space is evolving fast. One year back, crypto gamers were completely different people; they were earlier adopters who sowed the seed of play-to-earn games. Today, we are seeing the next phase of web3 game evolution with gamers who are looking for real fun, ownership, and liberation over the gameplay and game assets. Though we are still yet to witness its full potential, more institutions are showing interest, money continues to flow in, and more seeds are sowing.

“Content is King, and Community is Queen”
If Security, Scalability, and Decentralization are the trilemma of Blockchain, then Content, Fun game, and Community is the trinity of web3 gaming. Of course, with added sustainable tokenomics.
Whether we agree on it or not, web3 games cannot be sustainable and successful with the fun gameplay alone; it needs to balance with an economy that benefits the community. We are still early in the current stage of web3 game evolution as most games are still in the concept stage, with few having only playable demos. Yet, creating consumable content for the community, figuring out the right puzzle of the game economy, and bringing value contributing players will go a long way in web3 gaming.

Research paper: Crafting mechanism design
An insightful research paper on crafting events, taking examples of Axie infinity’s Lunacian Express (LE) and Lunacian Summer (LS).
Crafting events such as burning and breeding can engage players and make the game economy more sustainable. The design of the events and crafting mechanism has a lot to tell users about behaviors that later effects the game ecosystem. The paper studied two models of crafting: parallel crafting and sequential crafting. Authors hypothesized that parallel crafting is better for increasing the number of participants due to its simplicity and sequential crafting better for individual usage due to its dependence on time and the crafting process.
The researchers suggest that the tokens and items (In-game assets) be available for wider and all potential users to increase user participation.

Gala’s most important values: Freedom
If there is one word for why we built what we are building, it is “Freedom.” We all define “Freedom” according to our own context, but when it comes to gamers, it is something huge. For the first time in history, blockchain innovation revolutionized the finance industry; it allows anyone to own and earn an income while doing what they love to do; play games.
For Gala Games and any other gamers out there, “Freedom” means
Freedom to Play
Freedom to Play Free
Freedom to Own
Freedom to Earn Rewards
Freedom to Sell
